The Proceedings of International Conference on Agro and Marine Industry aims to bring together research and current thoughts related to contemporary issues in agriculture, marine, and their industries that contribute to human beings and citizenships. The advancement of technology, climate changes, and geopolitical situations have placed agriculture and marine sectors at risk, particularly the long-term impacts for humans and the environment (Schubel & Thompson, 2019). The United Nation highlights that transformative change in agriculture and food systems requires global actions in which the sustainability of human and the environment depend on these two sectors (FAO, 2017; 2023). However, such issues not only need attention from agricultural and marine sciences but also multidisciplinary expertise to disseminate their creative ideas and initiatives. ICONAMI highlights the importance of leveraging past lessons and future predictions to drive innovative solutions that have the potential to significantly improve and transform societal conditions. It is a multidisciplinary forum for researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss the most recent trends and issues in agriculture and marine sectors, as well as to offer challenges and solutions within the given scopes. Therefore, research articles, literature reviews, and position papers relevant with (but not limited to) the theme are welcome. |

Vol. 2 No. 1 (2026): 2nd Proceedings of International Conference on Agro and Marine Industry
This issue publishes proceedings of the 2nd ICONAMI (International Conference on Agro and Marine Industry) held by Universitas Teuku Umar on 20–21 May 2026 in West Aceh, Indonesia. The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, bringing together scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various countries to exchange knowledge and innovations in agro and marine sectors.
The Keynote Speakers are as the following:
Prof. Dr. Ishak Hasan, M.Si (Universitas Teuku Umar, Indonesia) delivered insights on institutional leadership and the strategic development of agro and marine industries in regional contexts.
Prof. Dr. Arif Satria, S.P., M.Si (National Research and Innovation Agency/BRIN, Indonesia) presented perspectives on innovation ecosystems and sustainable resource management in agro-marine sectors.
Prof. Wan Maznah Wan Omar (Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia) shared expertise on marine ecology and environmental sustainability in aquatic systems.
Mrs. Naina Islam (Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh) discussed research advancements in marine sciences and coastal resource management.
Dr. Sachinandan Dutta (Sultan Qaboos University, Oman) presented topics related to marine science, fisheries, and sustainable ocean resource utilization.
The 2026 theme was “Synergizing Blue and Green Horizons through Sustainable and Resilient Agricultural and Marine Innovations.” This theme emphasizes the integration of terrestrial (green) and marine (blue) resources as a unified approach to sustainable development. The concept of synergy highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between agriculture, marine science, technology, economics, and policy to address global challenges such as climate change, food security, and environmental degradation.
Sustainability in this context refers not only to maintaining ecological balance but also to ensuring long-term economic viability and social inclusivity. Meanwhile, resilience reflects the ability of agro and marine systems to adapt to environmental disturbances, technological changes, and socio-economic pressures. Through innovative approaches—ranging from smart agriculture, marine biotechnology, digital transformation, to policy innovation—the conference promotes adaptive strategies that strengthen both productivity and environmental stewardship.
By bringing together global expertise and local perspectives, ICONAMI 2026 serves as a platform to foster knowledge exchange, encourage collaborative research, and support the development of sustainable and resilient agro-marine industries for future generations.
