INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOCIAL, POLITICS, LAW, AND LANGUAGE (ICOSPALL) 2026
ICOSPALL 2026 will discuss the peace, prosperity, and the right to sustainable development in the Global South. This theme reflects an urgent call to rethink the role of knowledge and scholarship in addressing the multidimensional challenges faced by societies today. The Global South continues to grapple with enduring issues such as social inequality, governance gaps, legal uncertainty, communication, and cultural disparity. Yet, it is also a region of remarkable diversity, creativity, and resilience. Within this complexity lies a wealth of intellectual and cultural resources that, when effectively mobilized through research and collaboration, can become powerful drivers of peace, innovation, and sustainable progress.
ICOSPALL is also inspired by the Pact for the Future (UNSOSSC, September 2024), in which Member States recognized the potential of digitalization, new technologies and innovation, and called for greater South-South and triangular cooperation to build capacity; improve access to science, technology and innovation; and increase resources for the implementation of technical and scientific initiatives. In the Pact, they encouraged multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaboration among universities, research institutes and the private sector to accelerate digital knowledge development and enhance access to research capacity.
In this context, research serves not merely as an academic exercise, but as an active agent in shaping equitable and sustainable futures. By integrating insights from the social sciences, law, politics, communication and language studies, ICOSPALL seeks to explore how interdisciplinary approaches can deepen our understanding of systemic challenges and foster transformative solutions. It encourages dialogue between scholars and practitioners who are committed to generating knowledge that transcends disciplinary boundaries, informs public policy, and uplifts local communities.
The conference aspires to create a space where ideas meet impact, where theoretical inquiry aligns with practical action, and where the voices from the Global South contribute meaningfully to global discourses on peace and development. Through rigorous discussion and collaboration, participants are invited to critically examine how research can bridge divides, inspire innovation, and sustain prosperity grounded in justice, inclusivity, and shared human dignity.
